Happy Mother's Day

When my back begins to ache from holding you for hours because you just needed to snuggle with Mommy,

I will remind myself that you will soon grow too old and too big to be carried in my arms.

When you ask me to stop what I am doing and to come see your latest treasure or find,

I will remind myself that the everyday chores can wait, and that these moments are fleeting.

When your cries wake me up midway through the night,

I will remind myself that you are new to this earth, and you are only asking me for help.

When that first smile creeps across your face,

I will be thankful that I know that smile was meant just for ME.

When the laundry piles up with no end in sight,

I will be thankful that we have clothes to put on your back and a way to clean them.

When I see the look of joy on your brother’s face when he sees you each morning,

I am thankful that I was blessed with two beautiful boys who are filled with love in their hearts.

When you test my patience and try your best to make me react,

I will be thankful that you feel safe and loved enough around me to try these new tricks.

God truly blessed me as a Mother by blessing me with you.

Every day I am thankful that I am a Mother.
