To the Fair 2012!

Per our annual tradition, we went to the Wisconsin State Fair the first Sunday it was open. Our reason for always choosing this day is because most people are at church first thing on a Sunday morning (so the fair is less busy) and all the animals are there in the beginning of the fair. We really lucked out this year with the weather...after having such a record breaking hot summer, it actually felt cool out! Unfortunately, the fair was also more crowded because lots of people took advantage of the nice weather.

Little max decided he wanted to ride a camel, and since he rarely wants to do something by himself, we forked over the money for a high priced joy ride. 6 dollars to ride around a circle ONE TIME. It was the first of our many expensive fair ventures...

After walking through several of the animal barns, we washed our hands and made our way to the Cream Puff stand!

finger licking good!

we love cream puffs!

do I have anything on my face?

We met up with some friends!!

Then we moved on to the REAL fair food...
nothing says "STATE FAIR" like a FOOT LONG CORN DOG.

Sam had to have a bite....

Max didn't want 'germs' so he bit off the side...

We then made our way up to the Midway -- where all the rides are.  Little Max had informed us all already that the two things he wanted to do at the Fair were to 1) ride a Ferris Wheel and 2) eat cotton candy.

he was so excited once we got on the Ferris Wheel!!

Sam was a little unsure at first...

our view of downtown Milwaukee from the top...

Sam starts to have more fun once he gets the hang of it...

Then we moved on to find the cotton candy...
it was everything he had dreamed of....and MORE!

both the boys SCARFED it down.  They were in HEAVEN.
We made our way through the small animal barn on our way back to the parking lot.  You could tell that, despite all the sugar, Sam was starting to get a little tired....
I'll just take a nap right here, ok daddy?
not even 5 mins into the car ride and Sam zonked out...

Another successful year at the Fair!  At least this year we remembered to wear shoes...

Looks like a great day! All that food makes me hungry! And Super Sweet Max on the camel - so proud of him! Meant to tell you, jealous of your co-piloting in your last adventure!
