Day 2 brought more relaxing.
You know, leisurely waking up -- NOT! The boys shared a room and Granna and Grumps' and it was pretty funny, actually. It was my goal this trip to be more 'relaxed' and 'zen' about sleeptime. Last year, I got pretty worked up when they didn't go to sleep right away at night or didn't take naps. So, this year, I decided to be more chill about it. If they skip naps...fine...they'll just go to bed easier at night, right? Well....sometimes that works and sometimes it backfires. In this case, little Max just got a little too over-excited by the end of the night without napping, and it was hard for him to unwind and get ready to sleep. Plus, they were sleeping in a new bed and they've never shared a bed before!
So, I'd hear this "Sam....are you asleep yet? Sam...are you asleep yet?" over and over until finally we'd go in and have a talk with them. It wasn't just Max's fault either...Sam was just as guilty.
BUT, Sam has an internal alarm clock in him that has him spring to life at about 6:30 am -- and apparently that internal clock doesn't compensate for time change. But, at least we were not his first victim! SInce Max shared a room with him, guess who got jumped on first thing? LOL Payback's a you know what!
Once the boys woke us up, the rest of the house pretty much had to accept the fact that we were up for the day. Little voices carry :)
A little bit of breakfast, a little bit of coffee, Max and I would go for a morning run...and then we were back on the boat again! This time for a little joyride and to try out a new restaurant for lunch.
I got out my nautical gear for the ride...
Granna and her boys.
I don't think she enjoys this at all :)
Grumps and Max at the restaurant. Max was pretty excited we let him have a rootbeer!
Big Max was excited we let him have a REAL beer :)
And, of course, I had to sneak in and take this shot at night. The boys' just wouldn't settle down so finally we separated them and put Sam in our bed to fall asleep. I snuck in to check on him and he just looked so cute I couldn't resist taking a picture. He loves that blanket (the green version of Max's famous 'blue blankie'. Unlike Max, he prefers the large tag on it (Max prefers the smaller tag) and he has it squished right up to his nose in this picture. So sweet.

I'm so glad you blog. It's great watching your kids grow up via the internet, since I can't be there in person. Your family makes me happy!
I LOVE the picture of you on the boat. You look great!
